Introduction
The Pasteurized Milk Processing Line is a set of efficient equipment systems specially used to produce pasteurized milk.Pasteurized milk is milk that has gone through a heating process to kill harmful bacteria, making it safe to drink and extending its shelf life. Pasteurization is commonly used in dairy products around the world because it provides a safer alternative to raw milk while retaining most of the milk' s essential nutrients.
Feature And Advantage
Benefits of Pasteurized Milk Processing Line:
Safety: Pasteurization kills harmful bacteria present in raw milk, such as salmonella, listeria and E. coli, which can cause serious illness.
Extended shelf life: Pasteurized milk lasts longer than raw milk because the process reduces the number of bacteria that cause spoilage.
Nutritional value: Pasteurization preserves most of the vitamins and minerals in milk, including calcium, protein, and vitamins A, D, and B2 (riboflavin). Some sensitive nutrients, such as vitamin C, may be reduced, but are usually found in small amounts in milk.
High safety: Effectively kills pathogenic bacteria (such as E. coli and salmonella) to ensure product safety.
Strong flexibility: Pasteurized Milk Processing Line can produce whole milk, low-fat milk, skimmed milk and various flavored milks.
>> Production Process
1. Per hr capacity considered is 500LPH as mini, or 2000l daily.
2. Incoming milk Fat content4% and SNF 8.5% cow milk.
3. Milk is received either through tanker or in cans directly in balance tank front of skid mounted milk pasteuriser.
4. Incoming milk temperature is around 25Deg C and fast cool to 4 Deg C for storage and further process
5. Milk pasteurisation temperature considered is 75 - 80 0C for 20 seconds
6. Milk immediately processed and packed for storage in fridge or cold store.
7. 8 hr shift working shift with 2 hours of CIP cleaning.
8. CIP chemicals such as caustic and acid will be added in balance tank for cleaning.
9. All utilities-water/steam/electricity/ compressed air should be available on site.
Main Equipments
>> Main Equipments of Pasteurized Milk Processing Line:
The Pasteurized Milk Processing Line is relatively simple, usually involving collection and storage, cooling, standardization, homogenization, low-temperature pasteurization, and cold packaging. Below are the main steps and equipment list:
1.Collection and filter
Raw milk (cow milk), as received at farm by tankers or cans will be unloaded at respective lines. During unloading operation, the raw milk will be filtered through inline filters. The milk will be chilled to 4 0C using plate chillers before storing in the raw milk tanks/silos. Sour milk will be rejected.
Equipment: Milk collection tank, filter, pump
Process: Collect raw milk and filter it to remove impurities, ensuring the quality of the milk source.
Total capacity: 2000 LPD Expandable to 5000 LPD
Tanker or can reception :100%
Morning Reception : 55%
Evening Reception : 45%
Reception Timings: Tanker or cans:0800 to 1300 hrs/1800 to 2200 hrs
2.Cooling
Equipment: Plate heat exchanger.
Process: Quickly cool the collected milk to below 4°C to prevent the rapid growth of microorganisms, thereby maintaining the milk' s quality.3.Storaging
Equipment: insulation tank.
Process: Maintain milk at the optimal storage temperature through insulation materials and temperature control systems, preventing temperature fluctuations from causing milk to spoil.
3.Homogenization
Equipment: Homogenizer.
Process: Under high pressure around 20bar, break down the fat globules into smaller particles, which ensures uniform distribution and improves the milk' s stability and mouthfeel.
4.Pasteurization
Total quantity of milk received is pasteurised and clarified in this section before products are get package
Equipment: Pasteurizer (e.g., plate or tubular pasteurization equipment).
Process: Heat the milk to 72°C to 75°C and hold it for 15 to 20 seconds, and fast cooling to 4c to eliminate most pathogenic microorganisms while retaining much of the milk’s nutrients and flavor.
5.Buffering and Packaging
Liquid milk is pasteurised as per requirement and then transferred to buffer tanks. The pasteurised milk is packed in plastic bottles /bag etc as per pack size requirement (200ml/500ml/1000ml). These bottles/bags then transferred to cold store or fridge before despatch.
Equipment: buffer tank, filling machine
Process: The buffer tank plays the role of temporary storage and flow regulation before the milk enters filling. Then fill it into bottles ,bags, or carton box store in milk cold rooms where temperature is maintained below 4C.
6.CIP SYSTEM
A compact CIP system is provided cleaning function for milk handling equipments including heat exchangers, pumps, interconnecting pipes & valve fittings. The system is designed for both acid and alkali washing by loop circulation.
