UHT milk, or ultra-high temperature milk, is a type of milk that has been treated to extend its shelf life significantly. The milk is heated to at least 135°C (275°F) for a few seconds, which kills harmful bacteria and allows it to be stored without refrigeration until opened.

1. Per hr capacity considered is 2000LPH as mini, average 100,000l-200,000l daily.
2. Fresh milk by selection (Fat content 4% / SNF 8.5%) to ensure quality and safety.
3. Milk is received either weighbridge or flowmeter to calculate quantity,
4. Incoming milk fast cool to 4℃ and storage by insulation tank to further process
5. Milk is initially filtered to remove impurities. This step may also include cream separation, depending on the desired fat content.
6. During milk standard processing, degassor could be considered to remove air and prevent oxidation, and homogenizer to improve the milk texture and stability.
7. Homogenized milk is rapidly heated to an ultra-high temperature (at least 135°C or 275°F) for a few seconds. This process effectively kills harmful bacteria and extends shelf life.
8. The sterilized milk is transferred into sterile packaging containers in a controlled hygienic environment and immediately sealing to maintain sterility and prevent any external contamination.
9. After each production, full system will get washing by recycle CIP for sanitary.

UHT Milk Processing Line undergoes a series of steps such as raw material preparation, pretreatment, homogenization, ultra-high temperature sterilization, aseptic filling, and packaging. Here are the main steps and equipment involved:
1. Raw Material Preparation
Equipment: pump, filter, PHE, milk tank
Process: Normally receive milk 1-2bath /day at morning(6-8am)/ afternoon(4-6pm), fast collect and store into bigger jacket milk tank, filter out impurities, and fast cooling to ensure milk quality.
2. Milk Standard Process
Equipment: Centrifuge, Blending tank, Degassor, Homogenizer
Process: to guarantee each product same protein, fat content, flavor etc data. Should by mixing system for standard, then by homogenizer, the fat globules in milk are broken down into smaller particles under high pressure to improve uniformity and enhance product stability. This process typically occurs at temperatures between 55°C and 65°C.
3. Ultra-high Temperature Sterilization
Equipment: UHT sterilizer such as tube heat exchanger or steam injection.
Process: Heat milk to 135°C-145°C for 2 to 5 seconds. This high-temperature, short-time sterilization method can effectively kill microorganisms while retaining the nutrients and flavor of milk as much as possible and fast cool the milk to below 25°C to maintain quality.
4. Packaging and Distribution
Equipment: Aseptic Filler such as aseptic brick carton, or aseptic bag in box.
The milk is then put into cartons, plastic bottles or Tetra Pak packs in a sterile environment. Once packaged, UHT milk can be stored at room temperature for long periods of time, with a typical shelf life of 3 to 6 months. easy to transport and distribute.
5.CIP System
A CIP system is provided cleaning function for milk handling equipments including heat exchangers, pumps, interconnecting pipes & valve fittings. The system is designed for both acid / alkali and water washing by loop circulation.
To guarantee the aseptic, there is two point:
1.Sterilization for Packaging Material:
The inside of the carton boxes is sterilized using hydrogen peroxide(H₂O₂) or steam, ensuring that the packaging is free from any bacteria or contaminants before filling.
2.Aseptic Chamber and process for Filling:
Before filling, full system will do SIP process to guarantee all pipping and chamber in a aseptic environment, then UHT milk is pumped into the sterile cartons without exposure to air or any potential contaminants.
